Snow update

Well, so far so good, and I reckon the Weald has escaped pretty lightly from the really heavy snow that has swept across the North of Kent in particular. But hold on to your hats as the next 48 hours will continue to be critical as up to another 20cms of fresh snow is forecast from 5pm tonight by the Met Office in a series of new flash weather warnings for this part of the UK issued this lunchtime.

Without exception, it appears all our local schools managed to open today - but freezing temperatures and more snow make this scenario highly unlikely tomorrow. Keep checking back for all the latest news. In the meantime, stay safe, enjoy the snow - and post any pictures of a white Cranbrook on the site for us all to enjoy please!

I called Bedgebury, and as far as they are concerned the Fair is on as planned, and teams are on-site now gritting and clearing paths in preparation. I'm meant to be going on Saturday, so fingers crossed we'll all get there. It'll look beautiful in all the snow anyway - a perfect Christmassy scene!
