Make sure you're properly equipped if driving in France in 2012
Cranbrooks' proximity to Channel ports and the Channel Tunnel tempts many people to drive themselves to France for day trips and holidays. And so, as we start to think about travels abroad over 2012, these drivers should take note that from this spring, a new law is being introduced that means it will be compulsory for drivers on French roads to carry disposable breathalysers in their cars. The new measures, proposed by...

    Peter Carroll
After spearheading the successful Gurkha campaign in 2009 (inspired by Cranbrook resident Annie Watsham), local Kent man Peter Carroll has today launched a new campaign to call for a halt on fuel duty rises and the introduction of a fuel price stabiliser. His press release reads: The man behind the stunningly successful Gurkha Campaign of 2009 has launched a new nationwide campaign to fight for fairer fuel prices for UK...

Research suggest that around a sixth of us has been leaving longer periods between services to save pennies...

More prices hikes on their way for Kent commuters
If, like my husband, you make the slog from this part of Kent up to London each day, then sadly the news today from SouthEastern is not going to bring a smile to your face - despite the earlier cheers heard across the nation when Friday 29 April was announced as the date for the Royal Wedding and a public holiday to boot. Southeastern has confirmed that average fares are to rise by 7.8 per cent from next year in a price hike that...
