This is a very popular place (more of a restaurant than a pub) serving great food. Try the seafood which it's known and loved for in the area, or the meat which is good quality and always well cooked. They have some nice beers and a good selection of wines to help things along smoothly. Highly recommended.

Just outside Goudhurst is the Green Cross Inn, famed for its seafood dishes. Oysters, prawns, lobster, mussels, crab and the best ''chish & fips'' for miles! Wash them down with a glass or two of icy cold chablis or sauvignon blanc for a light, delicious meal. Or try other specialities such as duck cassoulet or portuguese cataplana with a robust rioja. Scrubbed pine tables and friendly service add to the appeal. Always book - it''s deservedly busy!
