If you're looking for somewhere special to spend New Year's Eve....
The Curlew's seven course menu starts with fresh West Mersea oysters and Champagne slush. The second course is a warming oxtail broth. Course three is a choice between potted langoustine with spiced mayonnaise or a pressed leg of pheasant. The fourth course is Turbot with cep mushrooms and parsley stew or smoked haddock. For course five, there's a choice between venison or partridge (with a nutmeg gratin - interesting). Course six is a cleansing Douglas fir parfait and, to conclude, there's a choice of Millionaire's shortbread or rhubarb jam and baked rice pudding.
