The week of Monday, 28 March sees the start of Cranbrook School’s annual Lent fundraising appeal. During this week there will be a range of activities and events organised by the student s in their Houses all aimed at raising money for the charities selected by the student Charity Committee. The charities being supported by the School this year are:
-
Cranbrook School
International: COCOA, World Land Trust, Joy Homes for Children, Cranbrook Tanzania Project
National: Children’s Liver Disease, Lupus UK, Great Ormond Street, Lifeblood
Local: Hawkhurst Cottage Hospital, Kent Air Ambulance, Sara Lee Palliative Medicine
The highlight of the week will be Friday, 1 April with ‘Wear What You Like Day’. Traditionally this is a day for the students to create, either on their own, or in groups, an amazing range of costumes and outfits and this year the theme is ‘The Movies’. All students pay £1 for the privilege of taking part. Friday is also the day for the ‘Horsley Arcade’, a lunchtime packed with sideshows, fast food, cake stalls, and the legendary chilli eating competition. Other events that have already taken place are the Allan Soiree, an evening of music performed by the students and the Webster Lenten Dinner for parents.
