No finalist spots for anyone in Cranbrook sadly, but at least there's some local recognition for several businesses surrounding the town who do appear in the shortlist for the prestigious Taste of Kent Awards.

So, massive congratulations to Biddenden Vineyard, Biddenden Cider, Owlet Fruit Juice in Lamberhurst and the Chapel Down Winery in Tenterden who are all finalists!

A six week countdown now awaits them before they find out if they are Taste of Kent winners.

The Taste of Kent Awards are hosted by Produced in Kent and there are 12 categories including dining pub of the year, seafood retailer and brewery of the year.

Last year 542 businesses and products received 10,000 votes. Julie Monkman, manager at Produced in Kent said: “The Taste of Kent Awards continues to go from strength to strength as consumers vote in their thousands to acknowledge some of the best producers and retailers of food and drink.”

To view the winners of a Taste of Kent Awards go to www.tasteofkentawards.co.uk on March 1 2011.
