If you're yet to formalise any plans for New Years Eve, but know that you'd like to stay local, then we've had a quick look at some of the best venues for a great night out. Whether you want a serious fine-dining experience, a night crammed with entertainment and dancing, or you'd really just prefer a few pints in the pub, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets. I spoke to the owners of some of our local restaurants and checked out their websites to find out exactly how they are planning to tempt us in on the biggest night of the year!

Partying in Cranbrook this New Years Eve?
The George
For New Years Eve, the George is moving up a gear, and is really aiming to lure in those of you who seriously love your food. Their evening centres around a 7-course feast, priced at £65.00 per person, and includes a dazzling sounding series of freshly prepared, locally sourced dishes such as Lobster Bisque, Ravioli of Prawns, Salmon and Crab, Duo of Pork, and an Assiette of Desserts. Book now as places going fast.
Terracotta
If you’re looking for a sparkling, lively venue for New Years Eve then Terracotta is guaranteed to be buzzing judging by reports of other hilarious party nights here! Priced at £49.95 a head, there’s a huge choice of tempting dishes, and it’ll all be topped off with entertainment including a belly dancer, fireworks and night long dancing to see in 2011 in style.
Apicius
Sadly, Apicius is closed this Christmas period from Christmas Eve up to, and including, lunchtime on Wednesday 12 January 2011, but how about booking yourelf a real treat to cure those January blues? I guarantee it’ll be brilliant, as the reviews on this site (and my own experiences) confirm.
The White Horse
No formal event at the White Horse, just an extended pub night aimed mainly at local regulars by the landlord hoping to avoid the previous problems of a younger crowd travelling in from outside the town.
As for me, well with 2 very young children, my husband and I are opting for a night in with familyand friends at home on New Years Eve. We’re going to order in delicious food, get tons of champagne from Sladen House and cheeses galore from Perfect Partners. Cheers!
Wherever you end up partying this New Year, have fun! We want to see your party pictures and hear your comments on where you went, what you did and how the food, entertainment and service lived up to expectations at these places I’ve mentioned. Where have I missed? What are your plans? Post them all here on Cranbrook People!

ReportI spoke this morning to the landlord at the White Horse, as previously their website is always down and their current published phone numbers weren't working, so it's been a little tricky to find out more! After a bit of digging, it transpires the White Horse is currently being offered for lease by Greene King, so we'll keep an eye on how things pan out for this pub in 2011. Regarding New Years Eve, the landlord told me that due to problems they've had in the past with 'young locals' they are doing very little this year, not advertising the night and hoping to attract their regular crowd as opposed to youngsters travelling in to Cranbrook and taking over the pub.

ReportFor New Years Eve does anyone know what's on at the White Horse or the Crown? I'm not a huge fan of either paticularly, but good to have options to and from other venues!

ReportAlso worth a look is Sissinghurst Castle, we're going to book here for a group of 12 and I think it's about £28.00 per person http://tinyurl.com/386j4g5
