Respected Cranbrook resident and ex-MP blasts Roy Bullock

Many people in Cranbrook are already fed up with TWBC leader Roy Bullock over various issues that have been well documented here, including car parking, care homes and redevelopment proposals for the area.

Roy Bullock comes under yet further attack from Cranbrook resident
Now, long-standing former Conservative MP and respected Cranbrook resident Sir Kenneth Warren has openly called for his resignation.
In a bold and outspoken attack, Kenneth branded fellow Tory Mr Bullock "arrogant" over his pursuit of redeveloping the centre of Tunbridge Wells.
"Roy has worked hard for the borough, but I submit we cannot continue any further along the reckless, expensive, path he wants to take. If he will not relent, his honourable duty is to resign."
His comments came in the wake of pledges by Tunbridge Wells MP Greg Clark relating to the Town Hall complex and the revelation that the council took out a £20 million loan to bid for the Land Registry building and former ABC Cinema.
Sir Kenneth, Hastings MP for 22 years, dubbed the loan "crazy" and lambasted the beleaguered council chief for being un-Tory.
He said: "At a time when all tiers of government are required to cut their costs, it is bizarre that a Tory Council should blatantly defy Davd Cameron's demand to restrain public spending.
"Never has it been Tory policy to dedicate taxpayers' money to a bidding war against private enterprise. To do so in the property market is foolish at any time."
Mr Bullock declined to respond, saying it was the convention not to publicly criticise members of the same political persuasion.
What do you make of Sir Kenneth's views? Do you think he's right to speak out so publicly against a fellow party member? Or perhaps you agree wholeheartedly with Sir Kenneth's views and agree it's time for Mr Bullock to go?

Correct me if I am wrong, but regarding the Community Centre specifically that you allude to, my understanding was that this would be paid for by the community itself and not TWBC. Howard Cox of the Weald Business Association has been leading this activity for some time on behalf of the Cranbrook Weald Centre (CWC) group, although I'm not clear on how he plans to raise the funds to do so.

ReportNot sure I agree. The government was right to act so decisively and quickly to cut costs to reduce the huge national debt, and a result of that, of course local and regional activity will suffer. It's the (very necessary) price we collectively have to pay. We might not like it, but it is the right course of action for this cash strapped nation, and if it means road expansions, new community centres and the like have to be put on the back burner for a while then so be it. We can't always have what we can't afford - true of everything in life at every level surely?

ReportSadly this is indicative of the Tory party in power at all levels, TWBC, Ashford BC, KCC and indeed "cast iron" Dave's coalition circus.
Still spending and wasting tax payers money, still bashing business, still introducing what ever regulations the EU wants. Still not delivering anything locally, regionally or nationally to stimulate business, job and wealth creation
